Jeff Hudson, RRT received the Career Colleges and Schools of Texas (CCST) Graduate of the Year award on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. The award was presented by United States Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne from the 24th congressional district of Texas, and representatives from CCST. Jeff graduated with his Associate of Applied Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from Concorde Career College- Dallas in 2022. Mr. Hudson decided to return to school after a long career in music arts. He followed his passion to save lives and his desire to make a difference in the world. Months into the Covid pandemic, Jeff knew that he found his true calling to be a part of that healthcare front line. Jeff demonstrated excellence in leadership and academics from his first day of class. He began serving as a Lamplighter (student ambassador) after his first term of classes. In that role, he served as a mentor and tutor to others in the Respiratory Therapy program and welcoming new students to the campus. He was accepted and recognized into the prestigious Lambda Beta National Honor Society in recognition of academic excellence with a 3.9 GPA, and exemplary leadership and service in the respiratory care community. During his student clinical rotations, he provided care to Covid critical patients without hesitation or fear. He was commended by his preceptors for his drive and ability to be a team player. It is no surprise that upon graduation, Jeff immediately took and passed his boards, earning his RRT credential. He began his career here at Medical City Healthcare, Dallas Hospital and loves what he does each day, providing respiratory care to patients. As an alumnus, he serves as a preceptor for Respiratory Therapy students and as a Program Advisory Committee member to the Concorde Career College, Dallas campus Respiratory Therapy program. We are proud that Jeff Hudson has been recognized as Graduate of the Year for all he has done, not only for his courage to be a part of that frontline during the pandemic, but for his passion and drive to provide the best care to patients, and to continue giving back to the future of the respiratory care by inspiring and mentoring future Respiratory Therapy graduates. Congratulations to Jeff.
